After a two week break, the F3 season continues this weekend at Donington.  Since the last race at Oulton Park, I've been working on my fitness; it's very important to keep to a rigid training schedule once the season starts.  There's actually not a lot of time in between the races, I've only had about a week at home training.

We went to Oulton Park fighting for a win, but even so it was extremely rewarding to win the first race.  I think the fact that we took pole and led the race throughout showed that it wasn't a fluke and that we have the pace to challenge for the championship.

I got my first ever F3 podium at Donington last year, so the track holds happy memories for me and I'm looking forward to going back.

Donington is quite a fast circuit, with some flowing corners.  Like Oulton Park, it's important to get a good exit from each corner, as that sets you up for the next bend, so it helps to be consistent and smooth.  It's also a low grip circuit, so set-up plays a very big part in getting the most from the tyres.  After suffering with our tyres in race two at Oulton, this is something we will be focusing on this weekend.

Donington is quite a high downforce track, which means it can be difficult to overtake on the straights.  If you get too close to the car in front, or try to use a slipstream down the straight, you lose downforce quite quickly.  There are a couple of slow corners which are good for overtaking.

Despite the great start to the season, and the fact that we lie second in the championship, I'm taking the season race by race.  We're looking for two podium finishes at Donington and should be capable of fighting for race wins.
