The F3 Masters is always a great event, but also very competitive.  It's one of two events throughout the year where different F3 championships come together to win just one race.

Traditionally, the Euroseries teams are seen to have an advantage, running as they do throughout their season on Kumho tyres, which is also the control tyre used at the Masters.  This seemed to be the case again this year, the Euroseries cars seemed to adapt more quickly to the specifically designed Kumho Masters tyre.  I think the essential problem is that there is so little time to test for the British teams.  They are asking us to make up years of tyre knowledge with just two 20 minute practice sessions and a 30 minute qualifying session.  That's a pretty tall order for any team!

Pace wise I think we did the best of any of the British guys.  We had a lot of potential, and ended the first day fifth fastest overall.  Unfortunately in qualifying we couldn't get that lap together; I had two laps aborted due to red flags, which was very annoying.  That probably lost us a top five starting position, which compromised our whole weekend.

We had good pace in the race, but I was forced into the gravel at turn two, and lost a lot of places.  I was forced off the track again a little later on the same lap, so it wasn't the best lap ever!  I think I finished lap one in 26th or something.

I started to make my way up through the field and it was good to see that I had the pace to overtake people such as Grosjean who had qualified second - I think that demonstrates that we should really have been up there fighting to get on the podium.  It was fun racing, but overall a disappointing weekend.  I did help win the Nation's Cup, which is awarded to the country which scores the most points. Nico Hulkenburg won the race and I finished 13th, so Team Germany won, but I'd much rather have been up there racing with him and fighting for a podium.
