 The fastest "football“ flies over the Norisring on the final day of the Euro 2008 - The cars and houses are decorated with big flags, black-red and gold outfits and a collective joy - when it comes to the European football championship, Germany is currently football crazy.
 The team of DTM youngster Maro Engel had their very own idea: At the Norisring race on the final Sunday the Mercedes-driver will race with a football helmet. The football like helmet was designed for Maro at Uvex in Fuerth shortly after the German side beat Turkey and went through to the final. The head protection has five black and white hexagons, just like the classic football. The only difference being, this "football" is made of carbon instead of leather.
"The idea for the helmet first came to mind after the last Group match. We wanted to wait until the German Side had made it to the final, "said Maro. The relationship with the German team was enforced by the slogan on the helmet: "We're with you guys."
