The hot weekend in Nuernberg started as we hoped. 5th and 3rd place in the two free practice sessions made us confident for the qualifying on Saturday and the performance of my GQ AMG Mercedes C-Class was very good. But then on my fast lap in the second qualifying segment I braked just a little too early. A mistake that at a track like the Norisring is very costly. So I gave away about a tenth of a second, and above all a much better position than P9 for the race. Added to this was that I was out with my first set of tires for too long. After that I only had time for two flying laps with the second set. Too little to be part of the top eight. In the race, things went quite smoothly. However I really don’t know why Miguel Molina drove into my car, when I overlapped him. This probably remains his secret, and was absolutely wrong. After the contact I couldn’t quite go the pace of the guys ahead of me. I think the right rear wheel may have been damaged by the contact. Nevertheless - it was fun to drive this race and fight for positions. This makes us confident for the next race at the Nurburgring.
Keep Racing
